Day 4- Love(s)

loves 91

Today is Independence Day. A big to do for Americans remembering the birth of our nation.

To me, and my husband, it is our anniversary.
Yes, we were married on the fourth of July.
Yes, we celebrated our lifetime commitment to each other on a day meant for freedom.
Yes, we are still happily married.

Together thirty years, married twenty-three, we both agree it has gone by in the blink of an eye.

I am one of the lucky ones that married a kind soul that has taught me more about love then I ever thought possible.

Life isn’t always easy but it helps to have someone on your side when dealing with difficult issues.

While both of us will tell you, we are not each other’s soul mates, (he doesn’t believe in that concept and I just know it), we are both so very good together.

When time takes a backseat to relationships and we would rather be with each other than with anyone else, that is when you know you have a good thing going.

On our 20th anniversary, a few years ago, we had our simple gold bands engraved with one word that summed up what we are to each other, “Loves”. That’s all it says and that says it all.

We are spouses
We are friends
We are Loves

Can you sum up your relationships in a single word? If so, what would it be?

(And to the man who continues to show me what Love is all about,
Happy Anniversary, My Love, I look forward to many, many more)
